9th IDEAS Steering Committee

The 9th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) will be held on 22nd – 25th November 2016 at Expo Centre, Karachi. “IDEAS has established itself as an attractive and impressive venue to promote mutual understanding, trust, friendship and cooperation between the friendly nations. Having achieved a well-deserved acceptability and prominence in the International defense markets, we are hopeful that this year too, we will continue to excel in arranging a world class exhibition”. This was stated by Major General Agha Masood Akram, HI(M), Director General, Defense Export Promotion Organization (DEPO), while chairing the First Steering Committee Meeting for IDEAS-2016, held on Wednesday, 30th March at Expo Centre Karachi. The meeting was attended by representatives from concerned ministries, armed forces, relevant government departments, DEPO officials and Badar Expo.

During the meeting, departments responsible for the conduct of various activities during IDEAS-2016 were familiarized with the requirements related to layout and organization at Expo Centre, traffic management, communication infrastructure and allied facilities etc. DEPO also highlighted the details of assistance and facilitation required from different departments

All representatives of concerned departments assured their full and whole hearted support for making the event a success, in the national interest. Karachi City Administration reassured that outlook of the city will be further uplifted during the event.

Trade Officers from Ministry of Commerce

Newly Selected Trade Officers of Ministry of Commerce, being appointed at different Embassies of Pakistan visited DEPO Display Centre. After briefing about role of DEPO like facilitation, promotion and coordination officers were taken around Display Centre.

Holding of African Day at DEPO

Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) organized an African Day on 29 Feb 2016. All High Commissioners / Ambassadors of African countries at Pakistan visited DEPO followed by visit of the Display Centre.

Allied Officers visit DEPO

Allied officers of Air War Corse visited DEPO Display Centre. They were from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Iran, Malaysia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Egypt and Turkey.
